I wonder if the increasing illegal, dangerous street racing is encouraged by the automotive commercials. They show every kind of family car, and even vans, sliding sideways, throwing up huge clouds of dust and sand, and generally driving in ways that should be shown only on authorized race tracks during authorized races. The young people of today have shown that their judgement is either in their asses or there’s no judgement at all. So when manufacturers demonstrate how well their products perform dangerously and illegally, the young mutton heads take it as a challenge to do the same (in spite of on-screen warnings, “don’t do this at home”, or “professional drivers on closed circuit”). Perhaps the numbskulls can’t read… or choose not to. Anyway, the marketers, as always, are just trying to scoop up all the profit they can, with no regard for anything or anyone except their own precious market position.
